Hello! I'm Talia Ranier and I am a multimedia artist and art educator living in Los Angeles. I have had a diverse educational and career history, which has afforded me the opportunity to gain experience in a wide variety of media. I have always been making art of all kinds ever since I was a kid. Before moving to Los Angeles, I attended the Maryland Institute College of Art. While there, I studied painting and sculpture but ended up graduating with a BFA in Photography. In 2012 I moved to LA and over the past decade I have earned a teaching credential and Masters of Art in Art Education at California State University Northridge. I spent almost four years teaching art to high school students but left my position to pursue a career in makeup and special effects. I finished the Complete Track at Cinema Makeup School in the spring of 2022 and am currently working as a freelance makeup artist. I am most passionate about sculpting prosthetics, character design, injury makeup, and special FX makeup, but love anything a bit weird and unusual. I am inspired by horror films from all decades, fantasy art, anatomy, art history, and camp. Please feel free to get in touch about your design, makeup, and FX needs!
